<image:caption>My husband and I mourn the sudden loss of our beloved Insurance Agent and family friend Albert “Bertie” Lyon. He was a caring and exceptionally humble soul. A stalwart in the Insurance Industry, Albert was well loved, respected and cherished for his incomparable customer service to all his clients. He was well known for his personable and hardworking demeanour and for always being willing to lend a helping hand. Bertie had earned the Title of being one of my five (5) friends and I will certainly miss those days of him calling me to say ”Cargill remember if you want a little vacation just call me and I will arrange for you to get the keys to Sandcastles or Point Village or where ever else you wish to go. Just give me a money towards the light bill”. Sagicor Life and all his clients, family and friends have lost a gem. May his soul rest in peace and light perpetual shine on him. I will certainly always retain the 2011 Toyota Corolla below which I purchased from Albert in 2015, in his Memory. Love you Bertie.</image:caption>

<image:caption>This pic is how I will remember you. Calm, cool and collected. Always the one to bring the vibes, even if it meant sacrificing your afternoon so we could go Hellshire to enjoy the beach and eat some fish! Thank you for all the precious memories, Uncle. From your constant hustle mentality; the embarrassing childhood nickname (how did you come up with 'Poo Poo' anyways?!); the enthralling dominoes games; your unwavering support through Hurricane Gilbert, high school and college ... you left an indelible impression just like my mom (or “Eagle” as you call her) said in her tribute. Your presence in my life was the most influential male presence second only to my father. I owe you so much. More than you ever knew perhaps... I am still in shock that you are gone. But I pray that I will not chase shadows of moments unfulfilled. Instead, I will live in the fullness of the time together the Lord blessed us with. I am forever indebted to you. I love you, Uncle Bertie.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Albert to me was more than a friend, to use a well-known cliché ‘he was like the brother I never had’. I met Albert about a year after he left high school through another mutual friend and that friendship continued until his untimely passing. We always toured up and down the St. Andrew area with other friends, especially on Friday and Saturday nights when we would end up crashing parties in the Meadowbrook/Havendale areas. Albert was always fun to be around and sometimes giving his close friends unsolicited advice about relationships, we would always counter by advising him to give up his smoking habit. He was my confidante, financial advisor (and at times partner-in-crime). Not the criminal type but more of the give-trouble type. He was also my insurance agent (I have at least ten policies with him from his days with LOJ now Sagicor). He was one of those persons who you could depend on to be dependable (emphasis intended). I was instrumental in Albert meeting his first wife Karlene (who lived in front of me at the time), and in those years Karlene’s father was only allowing his daughters to go out in the company of Gerald (pity he wouldn’t know, anyway let that go ). Consequently, thereafter he would return the favour by being matchmaker extraordinaire for me during the seventies and eighties. Albert had one of those rare charismatic personalities in which you could never be upset with him, as a matter of fact I’ve NEVER seen him upset, vex or angry in my lifetime with him. He always encourages me to save my money or invest in real estate (though I would jokingly say to him “how you expect me to invest or save and your companies premiums are taking away all my monies”). When I was hit with the news that Albert had passed, (considering I was speaking to him the day before on the phone) I was so distraught. It was the first in decades that I cried. Albert you were a beautiful person on earth and I’m sure your reward is in heaven, and I know you’re there with the angels. You will be missed by everyone whose life you touched while here. RIP my friend, gone but never to be forgotten.</image:caption>
